Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she received the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with actors and directors both on screen and stage for all of her career. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at leading the production. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the impeachment crisis that swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal actors into the very first impeachment proceedings in America for over a century. She was also the lead in two seasons of CBS Comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway credits includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and grew up there.
